Baby Eagle Ray Born at The Lost Chambers Aquarium

Baby Spotted Eagle Ray born in The Ambassador Lagoon at The Lost Chambers AquariumWe are so excited to announce the birth of our newest and possibly cutest addition. This is the first time we have ever had a spotted eagle ray born in The Ambassador Lagoon at The Lost Chambers Aquarium.

The best part is that the mother spotted eagle ray, who has lived in The Ambassador Lagoon for the past 3 years, is part of the European Studbook conservation breeding programme and a birth like this is extremely important in helping grow the numbers of these majestic creatures and ensure a healthy gene pool is maintained for breeding around the world. We observed two more rays mating this year and so there is a chance there will be more babies soon!

Spotted eagle rays can be found throughout the Arabian Gulf and are easily identifiable by their many spots.
