Atlantis celebrates Chinese New YearThe majestic nature and unrelenting spirit of the horse is an integral part of the Chinese philosophy of life. So as we approach the beginning of the Year of the Horse on 31 January, it should come as no surprise that people all across the world will see this Chinese New Year as an extra special occasion. And here at Atlantis, that is certainly no exception.

In our world-renowned style, Atlantis will be celebrating the Chinese New Year throughout the resort from 30 January until 7 February, including special Chinese New Year menus and entertainment at our 3 Asian-themed restaurants: YUAN, Saffron, and Asia Republic.

The festivities kick off on January 30, as we celebrate Chinese New Year’s with a variety of mouth-watering Oriental dining options and themed entertainment, alongside a spectacular fireworks display. Guests will also be able to witness a 3 day traditional lion dance throughout the resort – a symbolic ritual that ushers in the New Year and evicts bad spirits from the premises.

Atlantis celebrates Chinese New YearYUAN, Dubai’s most authentic Chinese dining experience, will feature special a la carte menus throughout the period, with an additional themed lunch on the 31 January. If you join us at the glamorous bar and lounge, you will enjoy contemporary Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine with a traditional twist, amongst a vibrant, stylish setting that mirrors a Siheyuan, a traditional Chinese house.

Larger families can celebrate the New Year with themed buffet dinner at Saffron, while the ever-popular Asia Republic eatery will feature a special New Year menu for both lunch and dinner. Chinese music, themed decorations and mandarin plants will greet you at both restaurants, letting you fully immerse yourself in the traditional festivities.

Both restaurants will also present diners with a humbau, including a description of the Year of the Horse, fortune cookies, mandarin and chocolate coins. Family-favorite restaurant Kaleidoscope will also feature traditional foods such as Konjee, tea eggs and vegetable pickles as part of the breakfast offering during this special season.
