Atlantis Welcomes Joe Barza at Levantine Restaurant

This week, we are welcoming the well-known Chef Joe Barza to Levantine Restaurant for a very special Lebanese culinary experience from 20-23 June.  It will be a must for everyone to come and taste authentic Arabic cuisine and specialties, whilst enjoying the suave moves of the belly dancer, or a performance by Marwan Daoud during Lebanese Nights on Thursday and Friday.

A wide-ranging menu featuring Arabian delicacies and many more vegetarian and non-vegetarian delights will leave you amazed with the sophistication of Lebanese cuisine. Dishes include:

  • Basterma Wrap with Tomato Puree – spiced and fragrant air-dried beef, mellowed by adding Lebanese yoghurt, rocket leaves and tomato confit
  • Frikeh with Lamb – roasted green wheat made into a contemporary organic dish with lamb
  • Fish Moghrabieh with Saffron – a twist on the traditional dish, the moghrabieh is served with fish and infused with Saffron to give it a distinguished taste and a rich yellow colour

For those with a sweet tooth, Chef Joe Barza has once again transformed the ordinary into extraordinary, with treats like Osmalieh Tatin (a marriage between two culinary cultures by combining Osmalieh, a key ingredient in oriental sweets and pommetatin, the infamous caramelized apple French dessert).

Chef Joe Barza is also known for being the head judge on the Middle East’s version of Top Chef.  The final three rounds of Top Chef II were filmed at Atlantis, The Palm and feature Atlantis’ own team, including Chef Mark Patten (VP of Culinary), Chef Wesley Berghoff (Chef de Cuisine of Ossiano) and Chef Hany Mohammed (Executive Sous Chef at The Avenues).

The winner of this season, will not only be crowned with the title of Top Chef, but will also receive a one year contract to join the culinary team and work in the kitchens of Atlantis!   The winner will be announced after Ramadan.
