Facing stiff competition from the likes of  DJ Jazzy Jeff, Will.I.AM and Redfest DXB, Atlantis, The Palm brought home two awards at  Time Out Dubai’s Music & Nightlife Awards on 26 February 2014.

Atlantis took away statues for:

• Best international DJ set: David Guetta Live@Atlantis
• Best festival: Atlantis for Sandance featuring The Killers, Of Monsters and Men and The Wailers

Says Time Out of the win “To celebrate its third birthday – oh! Look how you’ve grown! – the team behind Sandance had something extra-special in store. Indeed – fresh from headlining Wembley Stadium, The Killers’ may be the biggest Sandance headliner we’ve ever seen, and they failed to disappoint with a strong back catalogue of hits wheeled out with clinical efficiency. But beyond the big(gest) name, this was a fully rounded bill, with a rousing sundown set from The Wailers (of Bob Marley fame) and a well-timed booking of rising Icelandic indie stars Of Monsters and Men.”

Atlantis was also nominated in the following categories:

• David Guetta Live at Atlantis in the Best International DJ set category
• Noel Gallagher with Richard Ashcroft Live at Atlantis in the Best Gig (3000+) category
• Sandance with Florence and Keane at Atlantis in the Best Festival Category
• Sandance with The Killers, Wailers and Of Monsters & Men at Atlantis in the Best Festival Category
• Sandance with Jamiroquai, Chic feat. Nile Rodgers and   Rudimental at Atlantis in the Best Festival Category
• Nasimi Beach, Atlantis in the Best Outdoor Bar category
• N’Dulge, Atlantis the Palm in the Best Club category

The Time Out Dubai Nightlife Awards are the annual celebration of the emirate’s best bars, clubs, DJs, bands and gigs.

Now in its fifth year, awards are given out to venues, personalities and promoters across a series of 22 categories.
