Every lady loves a little “pampering”, can you share with our readers why you got involved in spa services? Spa services has always been my biggest passion. At the age of 14, I experienced a beauty treatment and decided that I wanted to be a beauty therapist. Towards my last year in High School, I decided to continue my education in the beauty industry and was working at a well-known salon in Zagreb, Croatia at the time. I have been in the industry ever since. I have had the privilege of working on different cruise lines, including The Royal Caribbean. I have also worked in numerous spas in Croatia and am now the Manager at ShuiQi Spa.

What is the most important about spa service to you? Apart from customer service which is important of course, I value the personalisation of each treatment according to the client’s specific needs. If I know exactly what our guests at the spa want to achieve, I am able to deliver a “wow-experience”, not only in service, but also is desired results. This is true for both cosmetic and wellness treatments that our guests like to indulge in and this is a value ShuiQi strives to uphold. Even though spa services are still primarily seen as massages, it is a growing industry with more advanced treatments and better results. It’s therefore very important that our guests are well understood.

My personal favourite is the Shiseido’s WetForce collection because they have a nice blemish balm cream with a high SPF to keep my face protected from the sun. Their ultimate Sun Protection Lotions are also great! For the more active days, I like using Coola’s range of sun protection. They have beautiful sun protectors for the lips, with tints, to make it look like you’re wearing make-up, but it still protects your lips from the sun.

Skincare is an important ritual that we often forget. One of my favourite products to use is the Overnight Hydration Therapy by ESPA. It really helps reduce fatigue that we often experience due to the heat. Even when my face is slightly sunburned, the Overnight Hydration Therapy helps relieve that tight feeling of burnt skin.
